A Reunion Worth Coming Back For

Everyone stays together. Everyone has their space.

The best family reunions need two things: a place where everyone can gather, and enough privacy that no one feels like they're on top of each other. Tranquille Resort delivers both — seven private cabins spread across three lakefront acres, with shared spaces designed for the whole group.

By day, families spread out across the lake — kayaking through the cove, fishing off the dock, kids at the water's edge while the pontoon idles nearby. By evening, everyone gravitates to the fire pits as the North Georgia sky fills with stars.

Each family gets their own private cabin with a full kitchen, porch, and lake views. The Lodge sleeps up to 8 and works perfectly as the central hub — its open-concept living area is built for exactly this. Everyone wakes up to the same view, a few steps from the same dock.

Two hours from Atlanta. Three from Charlotte. Accessible from anywhere in the Southeast — close enough that the drive is easy, far enough that it feels like a real escape.

FAQ

Family Reunion Planning Questions

How many people can the resort accommodate for a family reunion?
All 7 cabins together sleep up to 36 guests. The Lodge sleeps 6 (up to 8) and makes a great central gathering space. Smaller families take the one-bedroom cabins; couples get The Loft. We also offer full resort buyouts for groups who want the entire property exclusively.
Can we rent the entire resort exclusively?
Yes — full resort buyouts are available for groups that want all 7 cabins and the complete 3-acre waterfront exclusively. The cabin grounds, dock, and fire pit areas are reserved for your group. Note: Amelia's Cafe is still open to the public on weekends. Contact us to discuss pricing and dates.
How do we book multiple cabins for the same dates?
Contact us directly at info@tranquilleresort.com. We can hold multiple cabins simultaneously and discuss group pricing and full resort rental options. You can also book individual cabins through the reservation system and note that you're coordinating a group stay.
What water activities are available?
Private dock access on Lake Chatuge, kayaks, paddleboards, canoes, GoBoats, and half- or full-day pontoon boat rentals. The lake is perfect for fishing, swimming, tubing, and sunset cruises. Water rentals are booked through Amelia's Cafe on-site.
Is there a large gathering space for the whole group?
Yes. Multiple outdoor spaces: a large lakeside fire pit area, pergola with string lights, covered dock, and open lakefront grounds. For indoor gatherings, The Lodge has a spacious open-concept living and dining area built for large groups.
How far is the resort from Atlanta, Charlotte, and Nashville?
~2 hours from Atlanta (GA-400 north), ~3 hours from Charlotte (US-74 west), ~2.5 hours from Greenville, SC, ~2 hours from Knoxville and Chattanooga, ~3.5 hours from Birmingham, and ~4.5 hours from Nashville. A central meeting point for families spread across the Southeast.
Can we bring a caterer?
Yes — outside caterers are welcome. Every cabin also has a fully equipped kitchen if you prefer to cook yourselves. Amelia's Cafe on-site handles coffee, pastries, beer, wine, and mimosas on Friday through Sunday.
Are the cabins pet-friendly?
All 7 cabins are fully pet-friendly. Bring the dogs — the more the merrier on the lakefront.
What activities are there for kids and teenagers?
Kayaking, paddleboarding, GoBoats, fishing from the dock, swimming in the lake, bonfire s'mores, lawn games on the property, and access to Amelia's Cafe. The lake offers something for every age from toddlers to teenagers.
What's nearby for the whole family to enjoy?
Georgia Mountain Fairgrounds concerts and events (5 min), Crane Creek Vineyards (10 min), Brasstown Bald summit hike (20 min), downtown Hiawassee shops and restaurants (5 min), Helen, GA tubing on the Chattahoochee (30 min), and Oktoberfest Helen (30 min in fall).
What is the cancellation policy for group bookings?
Standard stays are non-refundable due to high demand. For full resort buyouts, policies are discussed at the time of reservation. We recommend trip insurance for large group bookings. Contact us directly for group-specific terms.
How far in advance should we book for a family reunion?
Summer weekends — especially Memorial Day, 4th of July, and Labor Day — book up 6-12 months in advance. If you're targeting a specific peak weekend, reach out as early as possible. Shoulder season (spring and fall) typically has more flexibility.
