Booking & Policies

Where is Tranquille Resort located?
Tranquille Resort is located at 834 Lower Bell Creek Rd, Hiawassee, GA 30546 — right on the shores of Lake Chatuge in the North Georgia Mountains. We are just 5 minutes from downtown Hiawassee and about 2 hours north of Atlanta.
What are your business hours?
We can be reached by phone or text at (706) 896-1465 between the hours of 8:00 AM and 9:00 PM daily.
What hours is Amelia's Cafe open?
Amelia's Cafe is open Fridays and Saturdays from 9:30 AM to 5:00 PM, and Sundays from 9:30 AM to 1:30 PM.
Do you offer self check-in?
Yes! Self check-in is available 24/7, so you can arrive at your convenience anytime after 4:00 PM.
What are the check-in and check-out times?
Check-in is at 4:00 PM. Check-out is at 11:00 AM. We offer contactless self check-in for a seamless arrival experience.
What is your refund policy?
Due to high demand, all stays are non-refundable. If you do have to cancel and do not have trip insurance, we will make every effort possible to rebook your cabin so we can refund you that amount or give you a credit towards a future reservation.
Do you have to pay for the full property rental up front?
For full resort bookings, deposits are non-refundable, but stays may be canceled up to 60 days prior to arrival and the remaining balance will not be due.
Do you offer long term stays?
Yes, we welcome long-term guests! Please contact us directly to discuss availability and pricing for extended stays.
What type of payment methods do you accept?
We accept all major credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover) and PayPal for reservations.
Do you offer gift cards?
Yes! Gift cards are available and make the perfect gift for any occasion. Contact us to purchase a gift card for a stay at Tranquille Resort on Lake Chatuge.

Pets & Cabin Amenities

Do you allow pets at Tranquille Resort?
Yes! All 7 of our cabins on Lake Chatuge are pet friendly. We do allow dogs and cats. Please select "Add a Pet" for each pet you will be bringing when making your reservation. For other guests' safety, all pets must be leashed when outside and crated when left alone at the property. We have a maximum pet limit of 2, but we do make exceptions. Please email us at info@tranquilleresort.com to make a special request.
Do you provide firewood?
Firewood can be purchased for $10 per bundle. Please let us know in advance if you would like some in your cabin upon arrival. On weekends, firewood is also available for purchase at Amelia's Cafe. Please note that outside firewood is not permitted due to local ordinances.
Do I need to bring charcoal for the grills?
Yes, please bring your own charcoal and fire starters. Each cabin has a charcoal grill available for guest use.
Are some of the areas on the property shared?
Yes, the dock, boat ramp, bonfire pits, and outdoor seating areas are shared among guests. The property is almost 3 acres with over 600 feet of Lake Chatuge shoreline, so there's plenty of space for everyone to enjoy.

Boat Rentals & Water Activities on Lake Chatuge

Do you offer pontoon boat rentals on Lake Chatuge?
Yes! We offer pontoon boat rentals right from our private dock on Lake Chatuge. Half-day (4 hours) rentals are $300 and full-day (8 hours) rentals are $450. Each pontoon comes equipped with built-in GPS, life jackets, cooler, fish finder, and leather seats. Fuel, taxes, and a refundable damage deposit of $150 apply. Seasonal availability — contact us for reservations.
How can we rent kayaks, canoes, paddleboards, or GoBoats?
We offer kayak, canoe, stand-up paddleboard, and GoBoat rentals right from Amelia's Cafe at Tranquille Resort. It's the perfect way to explore Lake Chatuge at your own pace. To confirm availability and reserve watercraft prior to your stay, please call or text us at (706) 896-1465 or email us at info@tranquilleresort.com.
Can I park my boat at your dock?
Yes, guests are welcome to bring their own boat and use our private dock on Lake Chatuge. Please notify management by calling or texting (706) 896-1465 or emailing info@tranquilleresort.com to confirm the boat slip isn't already reserved.
Do you have a boat ramp on site?
Yes, we do. Guests are welcome to use the boat ramp at their convenience. Please park your trailer near the boat ramp in the grass or near the painted Tranquille container so it doesn't block other guests' use of the ramp.

Fishing on Lake Chatuge

Where can I fish on the property?
You can fish right from our private dock or the shoreline on Lake Chatuge. Our property has over 600 feet of lakefront, giving you plenty of spots to cast a line. You can also take a pontoon boat or kayak out to explore different fishing spots on the lake.
What kind of fish can I catch on Lake Chatuge?
Lake Chatuge is known for excellent bass fishing — largemouth, smallmouth, and spotted bass are all popular catches. You'll also find walleye, yellow perch, crappie, bluegill, catfish, and trout in the lake. A valid Georgia fishing license is required.

Local Area & Transportation

What is there to do near Tranquille Resort?
There's no shortage of things to do! Downtown Hiawassee is just 5 minutes away with restaurants and shopping. Nearby attractions include Brasstown Bald (Georgia's highest point), the Appalachian Trail, Georgia Mountain Fairgrounds, Enota Mountain Retreat, and the charming town of Helen, GA is a great day trip. On the water, enjoy fishing, kayaking, paddleboarding, and pontoon boat rides on Lake Chatuge.
Do you have a shuttle service you recommend?
We don't currently offer shuttle service, but we're happy to help arrange transportation for your group. Please contact us and we can provide local recommendations.
