Appalachian Trail

The Appalachian Trail winds it's way near Hiawassee. Two highway crossings lie just eight miles from the center of town. It is an excellent hike between the two crossings for an overnight stay atop Tray Mountain.

High Shoals Falls

High Shoals Falls is an easy to moderate hike for a total of two miles. A truly beautiful and seemingly remote area. It is suitable for the family, but care should be taken on the trails with young children.

Helen Alpine Village

Helen Alpine Village offers a variety of clothing, food, gifts, home furnishings and décor, household goods, activities and much more. We are located in the very next town just north of Helen.

The Chattahoochee River

Tubing down the Chattahoochee River is a great way to spend a hot day with the kids. Just a short drive away, the Chattahoochee offers many fun and exciting activities such as tubing, fishing and swimming.

Horseback Riding

With the beautiful, scenic countryside as your backdrop, there are several great horseback riding locations with 20 minutes of Tranquille Resort. Please ask the front desk for more information

Scenic Golfing

Experience golf on a whole new level! There are four great golf courses located within 15 minutes of Tranquille Resort including the beautiful and iconic Chatuge Shores Golf Course.

The Blue Ridge Railroad

The North Georgia Mountain Fairgrounds offers many amazing concerts, fairs and specials events. The fairgrounds are located across the lake, only 3 minutes across from Tranquille Resort!

Brasstown Bald Mountain

Brasstown Bald is the highest mountain in Georgia. Hike it to the top to view 5 states and visit the Super Museum. You can see the "Bald" from your cabin! Click above to see a live web cam view from the top!
